Happy Thanksgiving – The year in Review

Thank you for praying with us and God bless you on this Thanksgiving day with many many blessings. We thank God for bringing all of you into our lives. Your prayer support has encouraged us to move on with the vision God has given us to reach the world for His Kingdom and for His glory on earth. Below is a report of the year in review. We will be counting on your prayer support as we move into the coming year, the year of our church plant and harvest. Amen

Dear Friends, Family and Fellow Believers in Christ:

Our plan this year was to continue seeking the face of the Lord and interceding for the community to discover God’s plan for the community. We have continued to prayer walk in the community, occasionally share the gospel, organized an Easter Brunch party on Easter Saturday, and shared gospel tracts with free water on July 4th USA Independence holiday. We also made connections with Messianic Jewish believers and friends of Israel when the Lord opened the door for Sam to visit Israel in July this year. Praise the LORD! Some of our Jewish friends are on this prayer list. Let’s continue to pray for Israel and the world!
We also launched our monthly TOP Community Prayer Meeting with a three-day revival in the first week of November this month with Rev. Dr. Samuel Obeng Apau as our main Speaker. He spoke on the theme “Do Not Let the Fire Go Out of Your Hearts” (Romans 12:11-13) and we were challenged to continue serving the Lord fervently just as the first church did and turn their world upside down with the gospel.
We are continuing the monthly prayer meetings every last Friday of the month. Sam is planning to work with a local Church Multiplication Program on the church plant, complete his strategic plan with Cultivate, and also complete his classroom studies in Leadership and Christian Ministry by May next year. He should have a Strategic Plan completed before the end of the first quarter in 2019. Pray with us that we will be faithful and obedient to God, walking in His Presence and being Holy.
Our vision is to help people restore their relationship with God through a personal encounter with Yeshua, small group fellowships, corporate worship, spiritual giftings, pursuing God’s purpose, walking in the Spirit, developing leadership qualities, and pursuing Holiness (Genesis 1:28; 17:1-9; Matthew 6:33; I Corinthians 14:1; Galatians 5:22-23). Our strategy is to make disciples of the un-churched and equip them to become disciple-rs of their network groups both local and abroad in fulfilment of the great commission of Yeshua ha Mashiach (Matthew 28:18-19).
We thank God for the fire that is still burning in our hearts for the Lord and for souls to be saved.  Our immediate need is to raise a team of about 12 people who will meet regularly to prayerfully model the vision, serve the community and plan to launch the church by the middle of next year. Please, share this with your friends and family who are living in the vicinity of Northeast Philadelphia. If the Lord is talking to your heart come and join us. You can contact us at sktigah@gmail.com. Pray and fast with us as we are storming the devil’s territory in northeast Philadelphia, that the Holy Spirit will lead us and there will be no room for the flesh. Thank you and God bless you.
Happy Thanksgiving and Shalom!

Prayer Team Strategy

This Prayer Team Strategy is a work in progress. As we continue to pray and intercede for souls and for one another, this document will be updated to reflect the vision and direction the Holy Spirit will be leading us. No team is more important than your intercessory prayer team, therefore we will be using this document to build solid systems that will keep us and the new church covered in continuous prayer.

Provision and Breakthrough Hinges on Prayer

We are going to need a lot of things to see this new church become reality: people, opportunities, land, resources, money, connections, etc. It’s going to require more than we can arrange for. It’s going to require what only God can provide, and there will be opposition. Consider Daniel’s experience:

“Then [the angel] said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way…” Daniel 10 (NLT)

The Importance of Prayer:

Brethren, you all know the story of Israel and its ancient capital Jerusalem – the city of Peace. Jerusalem has been involved in wars throughout its 3,000+ year history. It was discovered recently that parts of the city had been destroyed 40 times with about 118 conflicts. As I am writing this paper the city is divided into four quarters by the Armenian, Christian, Jewish and Muslim residents. The Palestinians have vowed to regain control of the City and to annihilate the Jews. All this is happening to Jerusalem because at the time of its judgement, no one was found to intercede for the city. Ezekiel 22:1-30.

Remember Nineveh, after Jonah proclaimed God’s judgement upon this gentile nation, when the people repented, God spared them. But God did not spare His own people and His own city of Jerusalem for their sins because NO ONE WAS FOUND TO STAND IN THE GAP.

Ezekiel 22:30-31, “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one. So, I will pour out my wrath on them and consume them with my fiery anger, bringing down on their own heads all they have done, declares the Sovereign Lord.”

Oh, Lord, My God, may we find favor in your sight today to build that wall in our generation and to stand up before you in the gap on behalf of your holy city Jerusalem and Israel – your chosen people and land, of our nations – America, Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, the 10-40 Window, North, South, West and East and the whole world – so that you would not have to destroy us again. “We covenant with you, LORD, according to your grace and calling upon our lives that by faith, we will never be silent day or night, we will give ourselves no rest, and we will give you no rest till you establish Jerusalem and make her the praise of the earth.”

Isaiah 62:6,7 I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem;
they will never be silent day or night.
You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest,
7 and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem
and makes her the praise of the earth.

Our Goal

Planting a new church is a spiritual invasion into enemy territory. Surrounding ourselves with a team of prayer warriors from around the world is the single best thing we can do to clear the way for people to come to Christ. Knowing that a new church will always be opposed in the spiritual realm, we will work under the leadership of the Holy Spirit to recruit at least 70 people to our intercessory prayer team: With God’s help, we commit to hitting that goal before: 04/30/2020

II Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.”

Grace Supersedes Sin

Genesis 16:1-16

Continuation from the Covenant of Grace.

We ended up our last insight into the Covenant of Grace by praying for favor after learning that God grants favor to those who do not deserve it but want to believe in Him.

We continue today under the sub-theme: Grace Supersedes Sin

In our last encounter with Abram, we learnt that he came to Egypt poor but left Egypt a rich man, all because of the unmerited favor of God.

In Genesis 16 we see that after all these issues in Egypt when Abram and his family returned to Canaan and God revealed to him how he was going to bless him with his own baby through whom many nations will be blessed, Abram again agreed with his wife Sarai to shortcut God by piling sin upon sin. Abram committed adultery with his wife’s maid, proposing that perhaps God’s promise will come true through this arrangement –

What a big lie !!!!

So for over 13 years, Abram did not hear again from the Lord –

Sin is terrible, ya’ll!  Sin is subtle!  Sin can really make you miserable, when you are into it it looks minor, it feels enjoyable, even pleasurable, as if it is no big deal. But all that pleasure is just temporary. Sin will come back and bite you! Sin separates you from God, Sin clouds your mind with darkness, sin corrupts the mind, the soul and the spirit – sin brings sickness, pain and suffering and it will ultimately kill you, if you do not do anything about it!

But God is such a merciful God, such a Good God, full of grace, and mercy, and forgiveness. God is NOT what our warped mind think of him to be – a hard-headed non-communicative being, not concerned with human pain and suffering, and only looking out to punish bad people.

Noooo, God is LOVE!!!

…no matter how terrible you are, no matter how many times you run away from him, he comes right back chasing after you, calling out your name, beckoning on you to come back to his loving arms, to his gracious mercy and forgiving heart. Call on him today, He will hear you!

What God is actually looking for is to enter into a covenant relationship with you! Yes, You!

You say how do I know that? Well, don’t take it from me, but take it from God’s dealing with Abram and Sarai. After those 13 years of silence because Abram and his wife were still dabbling with sin after sin instead of repenting and forsaking it, God still didn’t give up on them. He came looking for Abram again.

He appeared to Abram and told him “I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless. Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.”

Rather than punishing Abram for his sin, He came looking for a relationship with Abram, He came looking for faith (the walk of faith) so that He could impart righteousness, joy and peace into the life of Abram by completely wiping out sin from his flesh(sign of which is the circumcision, which I will explain later) and giving him a spirit of holiness and power!

You want to be holy, good and perfect? Do you need power to overcome the sin that has become a bondage to you, Do you need power to break any habit that you tried several times to break but you were unable to do so?

Come to Jesus. He will Set You Free!!! Tell him you want him to free you from your addiction and He will because He is the ALMIGHTY GOD. Nothing is impossible with God!!

Pray this prayer with Me:

“Lord Jesus, you who revealed yourself to Abram as the ALMIGHTY GOD,

I come to you today, asking you to deliver me from the habit of sin, addiction to _____(name your particular addiction, or bondage)!

Set me free from this bondage and fill me with your power to enable me live the life of freedom and a willing service to you and to other mankind.

I thank you that Nothing is impossible to you and by faith I declare that I am free from sin, from addiction and from any bondage in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen”

If you prayed this prayer and you meant it in your heart, you are now a completely changed person, You are free from any sin or addiction or bondage. God has made you free and blameless from any guilt, enjoy your freedom and look for a bible-believing church to help you grow in your faith.

To be continued.

A Covenant of Grace

Genesis 12:1-20

“Can God Also Favor Me?”

Abram was like any one of us, a man full of human frailty, vulnerable to sin and subject to all manner of schemes and temptations but he was also a man who dared to believe that there is a God who communicates with his creatures and has a higher purpose and a better plan for their lives.

Here was a man who left his country and his people because he heard “a voice” – the voice of God calling him to a place yet unknown. By faith he set out to fulfill that calling but lo and behold when things became hard and tough, when food became scarce, and life seems to be flickering away, he left the land of his calling – Canaan -to seek greener pastures in Egypt.

On his way to Egypt out of fear for his life and family he connived with his wife to lie to the king of Eqypt. He did what anyone of us will do to survive, but is that what God demands of us? Is that what truly put food on the table?  Does telling lies and being greedy and stingy bring pleasure and satisfaction to our lives? Is that what will give us riches, success, fame and glory?

….for the word of God tells us that lying and all these dubious ways we live our lives is sin and the payment for sin is death. Sin brings guilt, remorse, condemnation, pain, suffering,  sickness, separation from your creator, separation from your loved ones and ultimately death. (Romans 6:23)

However God preserved Abram and his wife and his family, why?

It’s called favor!!!

It’s called grace!! It’s called the unmerited favor of God. In spite of his weakness, in spite of his sin, in spite of his dubious schemes, God chose to favor Abram instead of punishing him for his sin. God saved him from strangers and rewarded him with gifts from his enemies.

Because of Abram, Pharaoh who took Abram’s wife to be his concubine suffered turmoil in the night, he couldn’t sleep, he had bad dreams, his family was plagued with deceases, he had no peace until he returned Abram’s wife back to him and showered him with gifts, then he asked him to leave.  Abram came to Egypt poor but left Egypt a rich man. WOW!

That’s what happens to a man or woman whom God Favors!!!!

He makes your enemies seek peace with you, and He prepares a table of delicacies before you in the presence of your enemies!!! (Psalm 23:5)

You may ask, how can I also get such a favor from God? How can I be blessed while I am living such a painful life, such a stressful, miserable life, such an unfulfilled and lonely life?  No one seems to care about me, bills so overwhelming, nothing seems to be working right for me. Can God also favor me!

Yes He Can.

All you have to do is ask him. (Pray this prayer below and make it your own……)

“God I need your favor, I need your blessing.

I admit that I am not as good as I should be,

I admit that as much as I try to make it on my own, life becomes harder and harder.

Look upon me and have mercy on me.

I am willing to trust you and to believe in you.

Come into my heart today,

Cleanse me from sin and

Be Lord and Savior of my life,

Give me the power to live the kind of life that pleases you and enjoys your favor.

I ask all this in Jesus Christ’s Name!!!

After Saying this prayer out loud with your mouth and believing in your heart the words of this prayer, God will pour out His Spirit into your soul and your life will change forever. Look for a bible believing church for fellowship and grow in spiritual things.

To Be Continued….

Pursue Holiness

It’s becoming clearer and clearer to me that the more holy we become the more sensitive we are to the moving and the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Holiness is actually God’s presence in your life, he comes in with his love, his power, his glory and his blessings

Hebrews 12:14

“God in Christ is reversing everything Satan and Sin has ever done”

Exekiel 36 : 1 – 15

“Also, you son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say, You mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD:…”

The Pain of God’s People

This passage speaks primarily to the Jewish people, the nation of Israel. This passage was a prophetic message written several thousands of years ago by the Prophet Ezekiel and yet we see it being fulfilled today before our very eyes. Oh! how blind people of the world can be, not understanding the times in which we are living, not seeing the mighty works that our God is doing in the midst of our days, the words that He is speaking, the miracles that He is performing.

The Jews are being bombed to death in their own land. The bombing of Israel is the attempt to bomb God’s people out of the land that is their rightful inheritance. The world’s opinion is generally against the Jews and their land in Israel. The Arabs are against her, and absolutely detest her, and would push her into the sea if they had their way. This is the pain of God’s people.

But what they don’t know and most of the nations of the world don’t know is that God has pronounced judgement upon all those who hate Israel and will like to fight them, kill them, or destroy them. In Ezekiel chapter 35, God pronounces judgment upon the nations round about Israel – in particular, Edom.

Edom was a nation in those days like Iran today that particularly hated Israel, was a proud and boastful nation, was very jealous and resentful of Israel. But believe it or not Edom were blood relatives of Israel.  The nation of Edom, were the descendants of Jacob’s brother Esau. If you remember your bible story Esau and Jacob were twin children of Isaac and Rebecca, right in the womb of Rebecca the twins were struggling against each other in their mothers womb and when they were coming out of their mother’s womb, the Bible tells us that Jacob was grabbing the heel of Esau. A natural sign of the kind of life they were about to live.

The two types of God’s People

We are told in the Bible that Jacob was blessed but Esau was not blessed – Why was not Esau blessed? We cannot tell for sure, because God is Sovereign, and we cannot understand all His ways: He blesses those he chooses to bless and punishes those he chooses to punish. We are all originally creatures of God, we used to be all people of God but after the fall – the world was divided into two – those who love God and go back to him in repentance seeking his blessings and those who hate him by their actions and chose to live their lives without God. So even though we cannot tell for certainty why God chose to bless Jacob and not Esau; we can deduce the cause from the attitudes of the two brothers which exemplifies the aforementioned two types of God’s creatures.

A living proof of the type of God’s People

If you read that fascinating story about Jacob and Esau in Genesis you will realize that Jacob was very much interested in the blessing of God – he desired it, he wanted it, he sought for it. In fact he was so bent on grasping God’s blessing that he employed crooked deceitful ways to get it. He even fought an Angel of God to grasp God’s blessing, and even though he was so crooked – God still gave him the blessing.

Why did God bless Jacob in spite of his crooked ways?

Because God is a MERCIFUL and GRACIOUS GOD. God looks on the heart and not YOUR WORKS. If you humble yourself, God will lift you up, no matter how crooked you are – He will forgive you, he will remove that crookedness from you and give you a humble and contrite spirit. Wherever God finds a humble and contrite heart, He will not despise it – He will bless it, He will lift it UP!! That was Jacob.

He was humbled after his time with the Angel, so that even though he lost the physical battle and became crippled – he still held on to the Angel saying – “I will not let thee go until thou Bless Me” That night God gave him a new name – ISRAEL

He lost the physical battle but prevailed in the spirit – He was blessed!!!

The nation of Israel today is a living proof of the type of God’s People. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that the Jews are good people, they always do right, their policies are good, they are perfect and do no wrong – NO! What I am saying is that in spite of who they are or what their political policies are, Israel is a nation blessed by God – PERIOD!

The way God is dealing with Israel in a living and literal sense is the way He deals with all that believe in Him in a spiritual sense. We are saved and blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places by Christ Jesus, not because we are good, holy, perfect and do no wrong, but because of God’s grace, mercy and love. The love of God which was demonstrated in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In order to reverse whatever Satan and sin has done to us in turning us away from God, God sent his Son Jesus to purge our sins away by shedding his blood on a cross and to defeat Satan by rising up from the dead on the third day. Oh! Yeah! He rose up again to justify us before the Father. We are God’s People because of what Jesus did for us who believe in Him!!

A Physical proof of the nations that hate God’s People

How about Esau, the father of the Edomites. Esau was very carnal, worldly minded, depended so much on his physical, mental and social capabilities than the abilities God can bless him with. He sold his birthright for a pot of soup. He desired food more than the blessing. He was unequally yoked with idol worshipers, he hated his brother so much that he threatened to kill him. He wanted what could make him happy now, give him pleasure now, give him energy now, give him sexual satisfaction now. He was proud, arrogant and resentful, and when it came to the blessing, he sought it with a threat, physical threat, with envy, with self-pity, with selfishness and pride; demanding that his Father must bless him against the father’s will. He was so fixated on instant gratification that he was blind to what the future holds for him – He lost God’s best for him!!! That was Esau

He wanted to eat his cake and have it too! And when he realized that, he could not have the blessing, he didnt go to God to beg him or plead his cause, he sought for vengeance, he wanted to KILL his brother. Hence this desire to kill has been carried out through his generations till today – that hatred, that jealousy, that carnality, that pride, and that love for war and terror is still running in the veins of the enemies of Israel today.

They want the blessing of God’s people but not the Lord himself, they want the land without the Lord. The nations surrounding Israel today, that want to push them into the sea, to destroy Israel are a living proof of the enemies of God!

Similarly, as it is with physical Israel, so it is with the spiritual state of Christ and his followers today. The whole world and those without Christ are living in sin and are enemies of God, which may include you, if you are not a believer in Christ!

But I have got GOOD NEWS for you!

Even though you may be an enemy of God because of sin, GOD STILL LOVES YOU!

Oh yes I mean God loves you the sinner, the enemy. He loves you and wants to save you from your sins so that you become one of his people – the people of God. In fact He loved you so much, that He sent his son Jesus to pay for the penalty of your sin and acquit you from the condemnation that will come upon all haters of God’s people,

So what i am saying is that you can become a friend of God TODAY. You can have an encounter with God TODAY!

if you will turn around today and say:…

– “God, I am sorry for my sins, please, forgive me, cleanse me in my mind, soul and spirit with the blood of Jesus and give me a new life to love you and live for you, through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, Amen”….

God will hear you in heaven and he will forgive you. He will cleanse your heart from sin and give you a brand new life to love Him, obey Him and worship Him. Oh YES! He will set you free and give you the right of adoption to become a child of God – no longer an enemy. He will give you peace in your heart as evidence of your new relationship with God!

The Discipline of God’s People – to be continued!

Church service was cancelled last Sunday because of heavy snow. I had shared with our church members on the night of 31st December that 2014 was going to be a year of an “OVERFLOW” of the mighty blessings of God inspired by Andre Crouch’s revival song – Mighty Wind.

For me that superabundant outpouring of the snow and weather conditions during the beginning of the year is symbolic and confirmation of what God is going to do this year. He, the Holy Spirit, will descend upon us as a mighty rushing wind, to blow away the troubles, the anxieties, the problems, the stumbling blocks that are hindering God’s people from living a victorious and abundant life of  joy, peace, health, prosperity and success (Psalm 1:3,4). The righteous (the believer in Christ) will prosper, but the wicked (non-believer, evil, oppressor, extortionist, the greedy, etc) will be blown away like chaff.

The Spirit of God will anoint God’s people and lead them into superabundance. If you think you were blessed in 2013, you haven’t seen nothing yet, expand your asset portfolios, for all your resource barns in 2014 will be “pressed down, shaken together and overflowing” with the mighty blessings of God (Luke 6:38).

Why is that going to happen? – see Joel 2:23-27 that was the scripture God laid upon my heart for 2014 – God will do that because He loves us unconditionally, unmeritoriously, and because He is a God of mercy and grace. He will do that so that people will give Him Praise and the world will know that He alone is GOD and there is no other.

How is he going to do it? By pouring out His Spirit upon all flesh – upon young men and young women, upon the leaders and citizens, young and old.

So what should we do now? Wait upon him – seek him diligently, pray without ceasing and keep on asking him to reveal himself to you in a personal way until he does and “You, shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”  God bless you!
