“God in Christ is reversing everything Satan and Sin has ever done”

Exekiel 36 : 1 – 15

“Also, you son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say, You mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD:…”

The Pain of God’s People

This passage speaks primarily to the Jewish people, the nation of Israel. This passage was a prophetic message written several thousands of years ago by the Prophet Ezekiel and yet we see it being fulfilled today before our very eyes. Oh! how blind people of the world can be, not understanding the times in which we are living, not seeing the mighty works that our God is doing in the midst of our days, the words that He is speaking, the miracles that He is performing.

The Jews are being bombed to death in their own land. The bombing of Israel is the attempt to bomb God’s people out of the land that is their rightful inheritance. The world’s opinion is generally against the Jews and their land in Israel. The Arabs are against her, and absolutely detest her, and would push her into the sea if they had their way.This is the pain of God’s people.

But what they don’t know and most of the nations of the world don’t know is that God has pronounced judgement upon all those who hate Israel and will like to fight them, kill them, or destroy them. In Ezekiel chapter 35, God pronounces judgment upon the nations round about Israel – in particular, Edom.

Edom was a nation in those days like Iran today that particularly hated Israel, was a proud and boastful nation, was very jealous and resentful of Israel. But believe it or not Edom were blood relatives of Israel.  The nation of Edom, were the descendants of Jacob’s brother Esau. If you remember your bible story Esau and Jacob were twin children of Isaac and Rebecca, right in the womb of Rebecca the twins were struggling against each other in their mothers womb and when they were coming out of their mother’s womb, the Bible tells us that Jacob was grabbing the heel of Esau. A natural sign of the kind of life they were about to live.

The two types of God’s People

We are told in the Bible that Jacob was blessed but Esau was not blessed – Why was not Esau blessed? We cannot tell for sure, because God is Sovereign, and we cannot understand all His ways: He blesses those he chooses to bless and punishes those he chooses to punish. We are all originally creatures of God, we used to be all people of God but after the fall – the world was divided into two – those who love God and go back to him in repentance seeking his blessings and those who hate him by their actions and chose to live their lives without God. So even though we cannot tell for certainty why God chose to bless Jacob and not Esau; we can deduce the cause from the attitudes of the two brothers which exemplifies the aforementioned two types of God’s creatures.

A living proof of the type of God’s People

If you read that fascinating story about Jacob and Esau in Genesis you will realize that Jacob was very much interested in the blessing of God – he desired it, he wanted it, he sought for it. In fact he was so bent on grasping God’s blessing that he employed crooked deceitful ways to get it. He even fought an Angel of God to grasp God’s blessing, and even though he was so crooked – God still gave him the blessing.

Why did God bless Jacob in spite of his crooked ways?

Because God is a MERCIFUL and GRACIOUS GOD. God looks on the heart and not YOUR WORKS. If you humble yourself, God will lift you up, no matter how crooked you are – He will forgive you, he will remove that crookedness from you and give you a humble and contrite spirit. Wherever God finds a humble and contrite heart, He will not despise it – He will bless it, He will lift it UP!! That was Jacob.

He was humbled after his time with the Angel, so that even though he lost the physical battle and became crippled – he still held on to the Angel saying – “I will not let thee go until thou Bless Me” That night God gave him a new name – ISRAEL

He lost the physical battle but prevailed in the spirit – He was blessed!!!

The nation of Israel today is a living proof of the type of God’s People. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that the Jews are good people, they always do right, their policies are good, they are perfect and do no wrong – NO! What I am saying is that in spite of who they are or what their political policies are, Israel is a nation blessed by God – PERIOD!

The way God is dealing with Israel in a living and literal sense is the way He deals with all that believe in Him in a spiritual sense. We are saved and blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places by Christ Jesus, not because we are good, holy, perfect and do no wrong, but because of God’s grace, mercy and love. The love of God which was demonstrated in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In order to reverse whatever Satan and sin has done to us in turning us away from God, God sent his Son Jesus to purge our sins away by shedding his blood on a cross and to defeat Satan by rising up from the dead on the third day. Oh! Yeah! He rose up again to justify us before the Father. We are God’s People because of what Jesus did for us who believe in Him!!

A Physical proof of the nations that hate God’s People

How about Esau, the father of the Edomites. Esau was very carnal, worldly minded, depended so much on his physical, mental and social capabilities than the abilities God can bless him with. He sold his birthright for a pot of soup. He desired food more than the blessing. He was unequally yoked with idol worshipers, he hated his brother so much that he threatened to kill him. He wanted what could make him happy now, give him pleasure now, give him energy now, give him sexual satisfaction now. He was proud, arrogant and resentful, and when it came to the blessing, he sought it with a threat, physical threat, with envy, with self-pity, with selfishness and pride; demanding that his Father must bless him against the father’s will. He was so fixated on instant gratification that he was blind to what the future holds for him – He lost God’s best for him!!! That was Esau

He wanted to eat his cake and have it too! And when he realized that, he could not have the blessing, he didnt go to God to beg him or plead his cause, he sought for vengeance, he wanted to KILL his brother. Hence this desire to kill has been carried out through his generations till today – that hatred, that jealousy, that carnality, that pride, and that love for war and terror is still running in the veins of the enemies of Israel today.

They want the blessing of God’s people but not the Lord himself, they want the land without the Lord. The nations surrounding Israel today, that want to push them into the sea, to destroy Israel are a living proof of the enemies of God!

Similarly, as it is with physical Israel, so it is with the spiritual state of Christ and his followers today. The whole world and those without Christ are living in sin and are enemies of God, which may include you, if you are not a believer in Christ!

But I have got GOOD NEWS for you!

Even though you may be an enemy of God because of sin, GOD STILL LOVES YOU!

Oh yes I mean God loves you the sinner, the enemy. He loves you and wants to save you from your sins so that you become one of his people – the people of God. In fact He loved you so much, that He sent his son Jesus to pay for the penalty of your sin and acquit you from the condemnation that will come upon all haters of God’s people,

So what i am saying is that you can become a friend of God TODAY. You can have an encounter with God TODAY!

if you will turn around today and say:…

– “God, I am sorry for my sins, please, forgive me, cleanse me in my mind, soul and spirit with the blood of Jesus and give me a new life to love you and live for you, through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, Amen”….

God will hear you in heaven and he will forgive you. He will cleanse your heart from sin and give you a brand new life to love Him, obey Him and worship Him. Oh YES! He will set you free and give you the right of adoption to become a child of God – no longer an enemy. He will give you peace in your heart as evidence of your new relationship with God!
